Immersive practical training focused on the complete preparation of a drone operation and the development of proficient flight skills in real-world conditions. This day enables pilots to structure their operational approach, understand field requirements and build strong foundations in safe and effective drone piloting.
The practical course - operational planning and field operations practice offered by KoptR Image represents the first step in the practical pathway toward professional drone piloting. This one-day training is divided into two parts: two hours in a classroom setting followed by the remainder of the day in the field, under the direct supervision of a certified instructor. Its objective is to translate theoretical knowledge into a concrete operational context.
Participants learn how to prepare a drone operation in a rigorous manner aligned with Transport Canada expectations, including airspace and site analysis, risk management, operational planning, equipment preparation and the use of checklists. Particular emphasis is placed on structuring operational documentation and on developing sound decision-making processes before and during flight.
The training also focuses on the progressive development of flight skills. Participants complete a series of practical exercises designed to improve precision, coordination, aircraft orientation management, and communication with the visual observer. Safety best practices, battery management, use of flight modes, and the fundamental principles of visual line-of-sight flight are integrated throughout the day.
This course enables pilots to build confidence, structure their workflow, and develop a realistic understanding of the requirements of professional drone operations, forming an essential foundation for advanced practical training and preparation for the flight review.
