Specialized instructor-led training delivered via videoconference over three consecutive days, designed for experienced pilots seeking to access Level 1 Complex Operations in compliance with Transport Canada requirements (TP15530).
The KoptR Image Level 1 Complex Operations (OCN1) drone pilot training is an advanced professional program intended for pilots who wish to go beyond the privileges of the Advanced Operations Certificate and operate drones in environments presenting a higher level of complexity and risk.
Unlike Advanced Operations, Level 1 Complex Operations are intended for pilots and organizations that must demonstrate a higher level of proficiency, both from a regulatory and operational standpoint. This includes an in-depth understanding of risk management, operational planning, organizational responsibilities, and the limitations of the standard regulatory framework.
This training is offered in a condensed format via videoconference over three consecutive days with a certified instructor. It includes approximately 21 hours of intensive instruction, promoting structured, coherent, and in-depth learning while allowing direct interaction with the instructor and other participants.
The OCN1 training is primarily intended for pilots already holding an Advanced Operations Certificate, professionals or organizations conducting more complex or specialized operations, companies seeking to structure their drone operations beyond the standard framework, pilots operating in contexts requiring advanced risk analysis and rigorous operational justification
The course content is based on the requirements of Transport Canada’s TP15530 guide and focuses on the transition from Advanced Operations to Level 1 Complex Operations.
Participants will further develop their knowledge in:
- Detailed operational planning
- Structured hazard identification
- Risk assessment and mitigation strategies
- Pilot and organizational responsibilities
- Integration of normal and emergency procedures within complex operational environments
- Operational justification
- Demonstration of compliance expected for this type of operation
