Advanced operations refresher

TP15263

This online refresher course is intended for pilots who already hold an Advanced Operations certificate and is offered as part of the pathway toward level 1 complex operations certification (LC1O - TP15530), with the objective of updating regulatory and operational knowledge before beginning that program.

The KoptR Image advanced operations knowledge refresher is a preparatory training program for pilots who already hold an advanced operations pilot certificate but wish to refresh their knowledge before enrolling in the training leading to level 1 complex operations certification.

This course is primarily intended for pilots who obtained their advanced certificate some time ago, who have practiced infrequently or irregularly or who wish to ensure that their knowledge is fully up to date before moving into a more complex category of operations.

Its purpose is to bring pilots back to proficiency, reinforce the regulatory and operational foundations of advanced operations and facilitate the transition toward the increased requirements of OCN1 certification.

The training is offered 100 percent online in a self-paced format and provides access to the complete and up-to-date TP15263 advanced operations theoretical content, including recent regulatory amendments. Participants progress at their own pace according to their availability while following a clear structure aligned with Transport Canada requirements.

The content covers, in particular:

  • the regulatory framework applicable to advanced operations
  • pilot and operator responsibilities
  • operational planning and preparation
  • risk management and human factors
  • airspace requirements, authorizations and navigation
  • normal, abnormal and emergency procedures
  • integration of recent regulatory changes

Participants receive unlimited access to our training portal, including visual materials (presentations and videos), a reference manual of over 800 pages, supplementary online documents, access to up-to-date aeronautical publications (VFR charts and CFS), exercises, mini-tests and learning resources.

This training does not lead to a new examination or the issuance of a certificate, but serves as an essential competency maintenance tool, as recommended by Transport Canada for certified drone pilots.

The content has been updated to reflect current regulations, including recent amendments applicable to advanced operations.
