This introductory course is intended for professionals who wish to gain a clear understanding of the principles and methods of drone-based photogrammetry, through a flexible and self-paced approach supported by occasional instructor guidance.
The KoptR Image introduction to photogrammetry training, offered in a 100 percent online format, is a self-paced theoretical course designed for drone pilots and professionals who wish to understand the fundamentals of photogrammetry applied to remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), according to their own schedule and availability.
This training includes the complete theoretical content of the introductory course, presented in structured modules accessible through our online training portal. It enables participants to develop a comprehensive understanding of the photogrammetric process without field practice, focusing on key concepts, workflows and the limitations of drone-based photogrammetry.
The course covers the fundamental principles of photogrammetry, including:
- stereoscopy and image overlap
- ground sampling distance (GSD)
- data precision and accuracy
- the main stages of a project, from mission planning to deliverable analysis
- demonstrations, practical examples and case studies drawn from real projects
The training also addresses essential concepts related to GNSS systems, RTK and PPK workflows, different types of photogrammetric outputs and their professional applications, as well as common limitations and sources of error. This approach enables participants to develop the technical judgment required to assess project feasibility and properly interpret the resulting deliverables.
Inclusions
Participants receive access to our training portal, including course materials, supplementary resources, sample datasets and various instructional tools. Occasional instructor support is also available as needed to answer specific questions and guide participants in their learning process.
This training provides a solid foundation for anyone wishing to integrate photogrammetry into their professional activities or pursue more specialized programs, including Pix4D training. It offers a realistic and structured understanding of the capabilities and limitations of drone-based photogrammetry in a flexible and accessible format.
